Jenny Style Audit
I'm Jenny. I'm not a designer, and no brand has ever paid me. My sources are the ones anyone can check: the fiber content labels required under US textile labeling rules, the public OEKO-TEX certificate database, and industry reports on fiber production and retail ownership. I started after a cardigan from a label my mother wore arrived noticeably lighter than the one still in my drawer. I put both on my kitchen scale. The numbers were different, and so were the labels. I began writing down what I found, garment by garment and store by store. It was not to shame anyone for trusting a name. We trusted it because it used to deserve trust. These books are those notes, organized so you can do the same checks without becoming a textile expert.
You weren't wrong to trust those names. For decades, a familiar label meant familiar cloth, and paying a little more meant getting a little more. That arrangement broke quietly. Stores changed owners, blends shifted toward cheaper fibers, and the fabric weight stopped appearing anywhere you could see it. The labels on the rack stayed exactly the same. I assembled this system because I kept meeting women who could feel the difference and couldn't prove it. They were told to buy the designer version, or to shop from a new list, or simply to buy less. None of that answers the real question: what did this price actually buy? The composition label answers part of it. Your hands and the light answer the rest. I've tried to make these books calm, sourced and practical, so you can check any garment in a store, including the ones in your own closet.
Read the books and try the method on one garment you already own. If it doesn't help you read a label with more confidence, email within 7 days for a full refund. You don't need to explain why, and you keep nothing you didn't pay for.
Three books, one method, and the certainty to check any garment yourself.
